Political Response to AJAC, WSBTV and League of Women Voters

Q: The 2010 General Assembly has received significant criticism for failing to resolve critical financial issues of the state. If elected, what will you do to ensure better success in in 2011 and future legislative sessions?

When elected, I will be a freshman,so to speak, and the Caucus may limit what I can do. That doesn't mean I will just sit by. I'll try to be on as many Committees as I can or at least set in on the Committees that will make a financial impact to our future generations as well as the near future. The way I hear it is the the state is running on next years budget.

Q: How will you engage voters in your district in identifying issues that are important to them, and how will you ensure progress is made on these issues?

Recess at the capital doesn't mean we don't work. Committees work on bills getting them ready for the regular session. So, I will take that time to bring our local leaders on board and get their input into the equation. That way when I return to the Capital I'll Have an idea as to how I'll vote on any certain bill. I plan on involving our local leaders in the process.

Q: What specific changes, if any, to property tax policy would you like to see?

I don't have enough information at this point, to offer an answer, except that I would favor Property Tax Exemption for any military person or their spouse, if killed on active duty. They have given all of us many peaceful nights of sleep while on their watch.

Q: If elected, what would be your three (3) top policy priorities and how would you work to achieve results?

Jobs, security and education. I would do my best to be put on any committee that has any interest in any of these. I would try to lure all the companies that left the United States for foreign soil to come home. I would do what ever it takes to get at least one gas refinery built in Georgia, to help in times of disaster.

Q: Do you think that Georgia should adopt an independent redistricting commission, that should be put into law in time for 2011 redistricting?

Only if the lobbyist and influence peddlers are wrote out of the bill. I think that an independent commission should be watched over by a special Grand Jury.

Q: What else needs to be done to resolve Georgia’s transportation problems?

I think electric rails, from street cars to high speed trains, would do the trick as well as create jobs from inception to operation.

Q: What further changes, if any, does Georgia need in terms of ethics reform?

The state of Georgia, every year, turns out of college young people smart enough and energetic enough to run the political Machine, we call Georgia Politics. The reason, they don't run for the offices, is because of the one bad word to candidates, "Incumbent". Our fore fathers didn't create this Republic to be a retirement job for some of its citizens. I think that term limits of 8 years is enough for one person to get his agenda into law, then let someone else take a turn.

Gordon County Chamber of Commerce  “Breakfast Meet and Greet”
                                                           June 25, 2010

Good morning my name is Jerry Nally and being the common sense candidate, I will not echo what we all know we need and have already heard.
Instead I want to tell you about your future.
The wave of the future can be decided by the energy used to drive it. It will use a lot of alternative fuels for energy, but the center piece will always be electricity, whether we "use it" or "produce it".
Electricity doesn't need copper or metal wires for transmission, today. We can send electricity thru glass wires called fiber optics. we can even send electricity over millions of miles using Laser Beams. There will be new industries springing up from the transfer from fossil fuels to other forms of energy. You have to be ready to jump on these industries as soon as they are brought forth by educating your citizens in these fields and give your children every opportunity to work in the industries of the future. The school systems need to start education on the new forms of energy so that your children can compete within this new technology.
Tomorrow will not wait on indecision; it needs people with vision, especially with a back ground in the electrical fields and other alternative fuel sources. Ladies and gentlemen, airplanes started in a bicycle barn....automobiles started in a livery stable.... and
a future power generation system, started in an unused landfill in Gordon County.
Now is not the time in history for indecision or politics as usual. It’s not too late, the landfill project is not gone completely, but this is not the time, to drag your feet.
There is no comparison, to the Love cannel in New York, and the land field here, as no one will be living on this site. Not only will a solar farm be here but if done right, the Methane gas that will be produced by the land field will be harvested and used in a furnace to produce electricity on cloudy days or sold to gas companies, which is being done today in other states.

I have forty years in the electrical Industry and I go to school every year to keep up with the latest Electrical innovations that hit the market.
Now is the time for you to elect a person that can think on their feet, with the back ground needed to help you with the future growth in energy fields and keep you in the race for jobs with alternative fuel and power production and the spin off businesses that come with them.
I have a lot more and the knowledge and passion to see it thru. I want to give you the same hope and cheer for your future, that I give your children at Christmas time.

Thank you for allowing me to visit with you today and to all of the kitchen workers, the breakfast was great.
